Bright Sparks challenge
We are currently fundraising with Candlelighters
Here at Katchr, we like to do our part for the community. Each year, we donate a share of the company profits to a chosen charity and this year, we’re trying to take that a step further. Our chosen charity is Candlelighters and this year we are raising our game by setting a fundraising target of £5,000 towards this exceptional children’s charity.
Who are Candlelighters?
They support families facing the turmoil of children’s cancer, getting involved in all sorts of different projects to help during such a difficult time. Their vision is to bring light and hope to every family affected by childhood cancer, providing emotional, practical and financial support when it is most needed. In addition, they also fund research to improve treatment and outcomes for children with cancer, now and for future generations. What Candlelighters can do with the money we raise…
- £5 could fund craft supplies for the hospital to make the medical environment less daunting for children.
- £25 could fund a day trip for a patient or sibling to have some fun and enjoy being children.
- £100 could fund a grant to make Christmas as special and magical as possible for a family.
- £500 could fund 7 talking therapy sessions for a child to support their mental health.
- £1,500 could fund a year of activities for children staying on the teenage cancer ward.
Online auction
10th – 12th December
We have had lots of great donations, which will make fantastic Christmas presents, including golf lessons, spa days and a holiday in the Lake District. The auction will close at 10pm on 12th December – so plenty of time to bid.
Christmas Tour de Yorkshire
13th - 16th December
The Tour de Yorkshire has been cancelled for the past two years so here at Katchr we will be donning our festive jumpers and novelty headgear and taking part in our own Christmas Tour de Yorkshire – 380.5 miles over 4 days, same as the real event but with a twist – we will be completing it all on the exercise bike. Follow our progress here for regular photos and updates.
