Aspiring Top 100 UK law firm Payne Hicks Beach (‘PHB’) has selected Katchr’s Centralised Intelligence Platform as its foundational platform for their firmwide data management and reporting.
About Payne Hicks Beach
Payne Hicks Beach is a leading London-based law firm with a history spanning more than 250 years. The firm advises high-net-worth individuals, families, and businesses across a broad range of practice areas, including private client, family, property, litigation, and corporate commercial law. Known for its discreet, partner-led service and long-standing client relationships, PHB combines heritage with a progressive approach to innovation and firm management.
Katchr’s Centralised Intelligence Platform enables law firms like PHB to accelerate their journey towards a single, trusted view of firmwide data. The platform utilises industry-leading legal business logic developed by Katchr over the past decade and makes this intelligence available through Microsoft Power BI and other visualisation tools.
By building on top of Katchr’s legal business logic and semantic models within Power BI, PHB will be able to rapidly deploy fee earner performance, or business development focused dashboards, and critical management information across the firm — without the time, cost and risk associated with building complex reporting logic from scratch within Microsoft’s ecosystem. It supports a deeper analytical focus, integrating many sources of data from across the firm, with the option of overlaying AI models.
“I’ve had the pleasure of using Katchr in my previous firm, and it was a critical part of how we managed all the data within our business, and how we helped our management team and lawyers/consultants interrogate and then improve their respective performance,” said Blake Gaffney, CFO of PHB. “Being able to rely on Katchr to handle the deeply complex financial and business logic that is specific to law firms, means the Board can focus on other strategic areas, such as delivering the best service possible for our clients and growing the firm.”
“Our firm is embracing a Microsoft-first strategy, but doing so typically requires significant investment just to reach ‘Phase 1’ of reporting,” said Sam Luxford-Watts, Senior Director of Technology at PHB. “One of the key challenges law firms face is
ensuring technology is implemented and integrated effectively to make metrics meaningful — and they don’t always speak the same language. Katchr’s Centralised Intelligence Platform gives us a trusted partner who understands both sides of the equation and helps us accelerate that journey.”
“It is fantastic to see a firm like Payne Hicks Beach embracing Katchr,” said Graham Moore, CEO & Founder of Katchr. “We see many homegrown data projects struggle due to limited time, budget and specialist expertise — which is exactly where Katchr acts as a trusted accelerator. Whether a firm chooses to deploy our proprietary dashboards or leverage visualisations such as Microsoft Power BI, our role is to provide the legal intelligence foundation that drives meaningful performance improvement and supports a firms longer term data strategy.”
